Naturbrush extra soft bamboo toothbrush for children
Guaranteed BPA-free, 95% biodegradable and vegan.
Helps you to reduce your plastic use when compared with conventional toothbrushes.
This toothbrush contains some plastic. We have chosen to sell it as we believe it is the best alternative to 100% plastic toothbrushes for our vegan customers.
Features of the Naturbrush extra soft bamboo toothbrush:
Brush head designed specifically to make cleaning those difficult to reach areas. The size is perfect for small mouths and for people who struggle to reach their back molars.
Extra soft bristles made of nylon-6 derived from castor oil and bamboo fibre filaments. The bristles are gentle and flexible for good gum health.
This toothbrush’s nylon bristles do NOT contain Bisphenol A (BPA). BPA is an additive commonly used in many plastic toothbrushes, it can however be dangerous for our health as it is a known endocrine disruptor.. The nylon-6 used in these toothbrushes does not contain derivatives from petroleum, because it is manufactured from castor oil.
Rounded bamboo handle, making it light and ergonomic. NaturBrush uses 100% MOSO bamboo (also called winter bamboo, a type of bamboo that is not eaten by Giant Pandas),certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and that comes from the Ningbo forests. Bamboo is an ecological material as it grows well without the need for fertilizers, pesticides or any other chemical treatment.
Bamboo is antibacterial and antifungal due to a naturally occurring component called “bamboo kun” that has antibacterial properties and helps the plant to fight off plagues of pests and fungal attacks.
The tip of every brush is coated in a different colour, one for each member of the family. The options are: natural bamboo, green, pink and blue. The inks used are from ecoprint (organic).
Packaging: A layer of paper wrapping inside a cardboard box.
Taking Care of your Naturbrush extra soft bamboo toothbrush:
Do not be concerned if over time the colour of the brush starts to lighten or turn white (especially at the tip). This is normal. The natural bamboo used is not coated or varnished.
Keep in a dry spot. Avoid keeping your toothbrush in a cup where water and humidity can accumulate.
Clean the bristles normally, as you would any other plastic toothbrush. If you get a build up of toothpaste, the best option is to rinse and brush it out under warm water.
Recycling and composting:
In order to optimise the recyclable and compostable parts of your toothbrush you need to take it apart. Remove the bristles with tweezers and/or pliers. The bristles are attached to the brush head with a metal staple. You might have to tug quite hard to remove the staple. Afterwards you can throw the brush handle directly into your compost bin, as it is 100% biodegradable (it will take 6 months or so). The nylon-6 bristles along with the metal staple are 100% recyclable. Check with your council to find out whether you can throw them directly into the recycling bins or if you are better to drop them off at a local recycling centre.
